Dominican Friars of Raleigh.

People have asked us, "Who are you and what do you do?" We hope the information within these pages will help answer those questions.

But just to get us started, we would like you to know that we are friars of the Order of Preachers (the Dominican Order). We are members of the Southern Dominican Province and our central offices are in New Orleans (http://www.opsouth.org/). 

Six of us came to Raleigh in 1994 to form a contemplative community of preachers - hoping to capture the vision of our founder St. Dominic.  (Dominic founded the Order of Preachers in the 13^th century and called the original communities "the Holy Preaching.")
